From the Coach - Dryden Baseball gets first Win

Dryden picked up their first varsity baseball win of the season as they defeated host union springs 3-2.  Bruno Bugliosi (1-1) picked up the win as he went the distance allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 3 hits, while striking out 7.  For Union Springs, Jacon T. picked up the loss in relief.  Union Springs took a 1-0 lead after the first inning as Jacob T. scored on an error with 2 outs.  Dryden would tie the score at one in the top of the third as Hunter Senecal was hit-by-pitch with one out.  Senecal would later score on Derek Wilson's RBI double to left with two outs.  With a base open, Brian Colbert would be intentionally walked, but Dryden wouldn't capitalize with the bases loaded.  Dryden would take a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth as Brian Colbert reach on a single to lead off the inning, and scored on a 2-out wild pitch.  Union Springs would tie the game at 2 in the bottom of the sixth as Alex Thorton doubled to left to lead off the inning, and would score on a Zach S. RBI single to right with 2 outs.  Dryden would re-take the lead in the top of the seventh as Bruno Bugliosi singled with two outs.  Another single by Derek Wilson would put runners on first and second.  Brian Colbert would then reach on an error allowing Bugliosi to score the game-winning run.  Union Springs would go in order in the bottom half of the inning.  "Bruno battled all night for us.  His breaking ball was good, and his fastball had life."  "We must do a better job of playing with passion.  We have to expect the baseball will be hit to us in big moments.  Then we need to make the play."  Dryden hosts Moravia tomorrow.
