From the Coach - Baseball goes to 2-1

VARSITY BOYS BASEBALL Vs, Trumansburg

Dryden improved to 2-1 in IAC play and 2-3 overall with an 11-7 win at previously unbeaten Trumansburg.  Alan Davis (1-1) picked up the win for Dryden as he went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs, 2 earned, on 1 hit, while striking out nine.  John Whitmore finished the last 2 innings for Dryden.  For Trumansburg, Cam Lueder picked up the loss as he went 5+, allowing 5 earned runs on 6 hits.  Dryden got on the board in the top of the first as Bruno Bugliosi doubled with one out.  He would score on a 2-out RBI triple by Brian Colbert off the centerfield fence to make it 1-0.  "Colbert would have scored, but he slipped rounding third."  Colbert would be stranded at third.  Alan davis faced the minimum through 3 innings for Dryden.  He induced a 5-4-3 double-play in the second after a batter reached on a one-out error.  Dryden would add another tun in the top of the second as Justen Geddes scored to make it 2-0.  Trumansburg would take a 4-2 lead after the fourth inning as all four runs scored in the fourth on zero hits.  "Our defense let us down in that inning, and consequently we lost focus and had difficulty throwing strikes."  Dryden would tie the score in the top of the fifth as Noah Welgoss and Derek Wilson scored.  Dryden would take control in the top of the sixth as Brandon Gold led off the inning with a walk.  Drew Wojcinski would pich-run for Gold.  Hunter Senecal would reach on an error to put runners on 1st and 2nd.  Noah Welgoss walked to lead the bases with no outs.  Bruno Bugliosi followed with a 2-rbi single to make it 6-4 as Wojcinski and Senecal scored.  Welgoss woould advance to third.  After a defensive indifference allowed Bugliosi to take second, Derek Wilson reached via an error to load the bases.  Brian Colbert followed with a 2-rbi single scoring Welgoss and Bugliosi to make it 8-4.  The final blow would be a Drew Wojcinski 2-rbi single plating two more runners.  Dryden hosts Whitney Point friday.
