Baseball goes to 6-2 in IAC (6--4 overall) with wins over Moravia and Groton

VARSITY BOYS BASEBALL
Dryden improved to 5-2 in IAC play and 5-5 overall with a come-from-behind 8-5 win at Moravia.  Bruno Bugliosi picked up the win, while Chase Walker picked up the loss.  Moravia took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second as Brian Stoyell scored an unearned run.  Dryden would take the lead in the top of the third as Bruno Bugliosi singled with one out.  Derek Wilson would follow with a single to put runners on 1st and 2nd.  Brian Colbert would reach via a fielder's choice error to load the bases.  Alan Davis would follow with a 2-RBI single to make it 2-1 Dryden.  Moravia would re-take the lead in the bottom of the fourth as Dylan Powers led off the inning with a homerun to make it 2-2.  Sam Allen would follow with a single.  After a strikeout, Brian Stoyell singled to put runners on 1st and 2nd.  Brian Badman followed with an RBI single to make it 3-2 Moravia.  Stoyell and Badman would score on an error to make it 5-2.  In the top of the seventh, with Moravia leading 5-2, Noah Welgoss led off the inning with a single.  Welgoss would be erased at second on Bruno Bugliosi's fielder's choice.  Derek Wilson would follow with a double to the left centerfield gap to put runners on 2nd and 3rd.  Brian Colbert was intentionally walked to load the bases.  Alan Davis would follow with a 2-RBI single scoring Bugliosi and Wilson to make it 5-4 Moravia.  Justen Geddes would reach on an error to load the bases.  After a strikeout recorded the second out, Brian Colbert scored on a wild pitch to tie the score at 5.  Brandon Gold would walk to load the bases.  Hunter Senecal, the nine-hole hitter for Dryden would follow with a bases clearing double to left, scoring Davis, Geddes and Gold to make it 8-5 Dryden.  Bruno Bugliosi would retire the 2, 3 and 4 hitter in order in the bottom of the seventh.  "These situations rarely occur.  I was pleased we grinded out at-bats in the seventh."  Dryden is at Groton tomorrow, 10am start.

Dryden improved to 6-2 in IAC play and 6-4 overall with a 24-3 win at Groton.  Justen Geddes picked up the win for Dryden, while Coyne picked up the loss.  Dryden scored 7 first inning runs on 4 hits.  Noah Welgoss led off the game with a double to the left centerfield gap.  Dryden would add 3 more runs in the top of the second as Alan Davis connected on a 3-run homerun to left-center to make it 10-1.  Dryden hosts Marathon on Wednesday, 5/1.
