Baseball from 04/20 @ Elmira Notre Dame

Dryden fell to 3-4 overall, yet remained 3-1 in IAC play as they dropped a non-league game versus elmira notre dame 5-1.  For Dryden, Bruno Bugliosi picked up the loss as he went 5 innings, allowing 5 earned run on 4 hits, while striking out 6.  Dryden would take a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning as Noah Welgoss scored on a 2-out wild pitch.  Welgoss reached on an error, stole second and moved to third on a throwing error on the attempted caught stealing.  Dryden had an opportunity to extend the lead in the top of the fourth inning as Brian Colbert led off the inning with a walk.  Alan Davis followed with a single to put runners on first and second. Aftter a strikeout, Davis was forced at second on a fielder's choice.  With runners on first and third, John Whitmore would steal second to put two runners in scoring position, however a popout ended the threat.  END would get on the board in the bottom of the fourth as Aaron Carson reached on a single with 2-outs and later scored.  Dryden threatened again in the top of the fifth as Hunter Senecal led off the inning with a walk. After two straight flyouts, Derek Wilsom reached on an error allowing Senecal to advance to third.  Brian Colbert followed with a deep flyout to center to end the threat.  "Brian couldn't square it up much better, the CF was playing extremely deep."  END took control as they scored 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth.  The big blow was a 2-RBI single by Parker May.  "We played well today.   We just need to finish off hitters and not allow the free pass."  Dryden hosts Groton on Monday.
