Wednesday
afternoon at Dryden Lake Golf Course, the Dryden Purple Lions Varsity
Golf team improved to 13-0 with a win over Southern Cayuga. Dryden
Senior Ryan Whitaker and Junior Jonathan Becker each shot 38 on a windy,
rainy afternoon in difficult scoring conditions. Both players overcame
double-bogeys early in the round with birdies towards the end. Whitaker
birdied the eighth and ninth holes for the second straight match while
Becker birdied eight and narrowly missed a birdie at nine that would
have given him the outright medalist honors. Mike Killian shot a solid
score of 40 for the Chiefs. Dryden hosts the Union Springs Purple Wolves
Thursday afternoon
at Dryden Lake Golf Course.
