Baseball at Whitney Point

Dryden improved to 11-3 in IAC play and 11-6 overall with an 17-0 win over host Whitney Point.  For Dryden, Justen Geddes picked up the win, his fourth on the year.  For Whitney Point, Jared Bieber picked up the loss.  Dryden got on the board in the top of the first as Noah Welgoss led off the game with a single.  Welgoss would score on Brian Colbert's 2-run homerun to left-center to make it 2-0.  Dryden would add 2 more runs in the top of the second as John Whitmore led off the inning with a single.  Whitmore would steal second base.  Whitmore would move to third on a wild pitch and score on Hunter Senecal's RBI sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.  Noah Welgoss would single with two outs, advance to second base on a wild pitch, and score on Bruno Bugliosi's RBI single to make it 4-0.  Dryden would add 3 more runs in the top of the third inning as Alan Davis reached on a fielder's choice and scored on Justen Geddes' RBI single to make it 5-0.  Geddes would score on an error to make it 6-0, and John Whitmore who reached on that error would score on Noah Welgoss' RBI single to make it 7-0.  Dryden would add a lone run in the fourth and 10 runs in the sixth highlighted by a John Whitmore 2 RBI single, a Brandon Gold 2 RBI double and a 2-RBI triple by Brian Colbert.  Dryden will play IAC rival Trumansburg on Tuesday.  Justen Geddes threw all six innings as he allowed 2 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 1.  "Justen has thrown very well in his past couple of starts.  He throws strikes and eliminates the free pass."
