Dryden Baseball vs Trumansburg

From the Coach

VARSITY BOYS BASEBALL
Dryden fell to 9-3 in IAC play and 9-6 overall as visiting Trumansburg won 12-6.  For Trumansburg, Jeff Cotterill picked up the win.  For Dryden, Alan Davis took the loss.  Trumansburg got on the board in the top of the first as Cam Lueder reached on a two-out single, and scored on a Colin Fellows RBI double to make it 1-0.  Trumansburg would take a 3-0 lead in the top of the third as Glen Addicott and Alex Shippy walked to start the inning.  After a strikeout, Colin Fellows would walk to load the bases.  Addicott would score on a wild pitch to make it 3-0.  Both runners would advance.  Shippy would come around and score on Sam Houseworth's RBI sac fly to make it 3-0.  Dryden would put 2 runs on the board in the bottom of the third as Drew Wojcinski reached on a walk and stole second.  Wojcinski would score on Josh Faulkner's RBI single to right to make it 3-1.  Faulkner would score on Derek Wilson's RBI single to make it 3-2.  Trumansburg would score 5 runs in the top of the fourth inning.  The big blow, a Colin fellows 2-run homerun.  After trailing 12-2 in the fifth inning, Dryden scored 3 runs in the bottom of the fifth on Derek Wilson's 3-run homerun to cut the deficit to 12-5.  In the bottom of the sixth Drew Wojcinski scored on Bruno Bugliosi's RBI single, but a baserunning mistake would eliminate the potential threat.  "Our mental approach was not there today.  We have to leave mistakes in the past and move on.  Today we did not do a good job of that.  Hopefully we can rebound tomorrow."  "The walks were problematic for us today.  We have got to focus and throw strikes.  Eight of Trumansburg's twelve runs reached base via the base on balls."  Dryden hosts Moravia tomorrow.
