Varsity Girls Swim vs. Odsessa-Montour

The Dryden girls varsity swim team made their home debut a
winning one with a solid victory over the visiting Odessa-Montour girls by a
score of 108-56. The team received a
strong effort from all of the swimmers and won every event except the 200 Free
Relay.
Winning events included the 200 Medley Relay (Erin Daley,
Taylor Cain, Cassie Miller, and Marita Miller: 2:07.59), 200 Free (Jainyn Wood:
2:12.15), 200 IM (Marita Miller: 2:35.01), 50 Free (Erin Daley: 26.49), 100 Fly
(Cassie Miller: 1:15.73), 100 Free (Marita Miller: 1:03.44), 500 Free (Erin
Daley: 6:23.08), 100 Back (Jainyn Wood: 1:11.51), 100 Breast (Taylor Cain:
1:17.58), and the 400 Free Relay (Hayley Tanner, Erin Daley, Sydney Bishop, and
Cassie Miller: 4:54.63).
Second place finishes were recorded in the 200 Medley Relay
(Allison Morrow, Miranda Seymour, Veronica Cator-Szymanski, and Jada Chaires:
2:21.50), 200 Free (Danielle Card: 2:27.34), 200 IM (Allison Morrow: 2:44.43),
50 Free (Cassie Miller: 28:55), 100 Fly (Veronica Cator-Szymanski: 1:22.42),
100 Free (Allison Morrow: 1:08.48), and
the200 Free Relay (Hayley Tanner, Jainyn Wood, Taylor Cain, and Miranda
Seymour: 2:11.21).
In addition, season best times were recorded by Taylor Cain
(100 Breast: 1:17.58), Danielle Card (200 Free: 2:27.34, 500 Free: 6:46.24),
Cassie Miller (50 Free: 28:55), and Hayley Tanner (100 Free: 1:31.15).
The girl’s next meet will be Saturday, 9/20, at Elmira Free
Academy for the EFA Invitaional.
