Dryden Cross Country at Marathon

From the DCS Website

Dryden @ Marathon
9-9-14
The newly resurrected Dryden Cross Country program ran in it's first race of the season at the Marathon Dual meet against Marathon, Groton, Moravia, Trumansburg, and Southern Cayuga.
In their first race, the Dryden boys placed two runners in the Top-10, Morningstar Fowler (6th-19:57), and Tor Wildenstein (7th-20:04). The team's other scorers were Kelvin Green (11th-20:36), Eric Varvayanis (18th-21:11), and Jacob Yatsko (22nd-21:25). The boys' combined team score of 64 points was enough to give them 2nd place behind Trumansburg who scored 30 points.
In the girls' race, Abbey Yatsko placed 3rd with a time of 22:50, and the other Dryden finishers were Haley Cornelius (13th-26:10), Shaina Sullivan (15th-26:30), and Teaghan Murphy (21st-27:31).
I couldn't be happier with the performance of all the athletes on the team in the first race of the season. This was also the first cross country race ever for the entire team, and we had a late start to our training this season. We came into this race just looking to run smart, strong, gain experience, and finish. Every day I'm shocked at the commitment level and motivation displayed by a group of individuals who are all entirely new to the sport. The team out performed my expectations today, and will be a force to be reckoned with as the season progresses.
