From the Coach - Dryden JV Girls Basketball moves to 2-0 on the season

The JV Girls Basketball team improves the record to 2-0 on the season. The girls started the game very slow in the first half, finding it difficult to score on Marathon's aggressive 2-3 zone defense. The girls have struggled converting outside shots and that is a must when playing a zone. The last two minutes before the half we had two good possessions attacking the zone from the middle and moving the ball to the low post and converting. We made some adjustments at half time and it really showed in the start of the third quarter. We played aggressively, especially our guards creating a lot of turnovers on defense. The girls managed to create a 15 pt lead allowing us to get other girls floor time. Overall our offensive was more patient with their zone in the second half and we hit some key jump shots. Amy Gardner, Veronica Cator-Szymanski and Keir Daley finished the game with 8 points a piece and Mackenzie Weaver added 6 for the team. Final Score Dryden 35 Marathon 25.
