1/30 JVGBB: Dryden girls improved
their record to 11-2 with an impressive win over Groton 40-29. It was the best
half court offense we played all year. We were able to execute off their zone
defense attacking the baseline and finding looks in the middle. I thought Groton
was a much improved team from the first time we saw them. They really couldn't
do much inside against us because we were very active and rotated very quickly
on the ball.
Mackenzie Weaver had her best offensive night of the year contributing 11 pts. Mackenzie has come a long way with her shooting and it has shown this year on the floor. She is very confident with her 10ft jump shot on the baseline.
Rachel White played her best game of the year defensively and offensively. It is nice to see Rachel more aggressive when she has the ball. She took quality shots for us and also attacked the basket when needed. She hustled on defense and did an outstanding job on the boards.
It was a great win and hopefully the good things we did will roll over against Lansing Friday night.
