Dryden fell to 8-7 overall
with a 54-34 loss at Chenango Forks.
Dryden was led by sophomores Ali Abel-Ferretti and Stu Stahlman who each
finished with 7 points. Forks was led by
T. Borchardt who had 11 points, while Andrew Ziegenfus chipped in with 10
points. Dryden would connect on a
3-point shot from Trevor Gardner on their opening possession to take a 3-0
lead. After a defensive stop, Dryden
missed 2 free-throws, then an uncontested lay-up which could have extended the
lead to 7-0. Unfortunately, Gardner's
three would be the only Dryden points in the first quarter. "We played timid for most of the
game. You have to be willing to attack
teams, and we didn't do that tonight."
Dryden would cut the deficit to 4 points at half as they trailed
24-20. "We had two very good
possessions to end the half which resulted in lay-ups." CF would outscore Dryden 19-4 in the second
quarter. "Chenango Forks has plenty
of length, they disrupted several of our looks tonight." "I was very pleased with the way our
second group played tonight. Their
opportunity existed due to lackluster play from our first group, and they took
advantage." Dryden is at Southern
Cayuga Wednesday, 5:30 JV tip. Dryden
JV's defeated CF 66-42. Sophomore
Anthony Nichols led Dryden with 23 points.
