Dryden improved to 9-7
overall with a 58-47 win over visiting Waverly.
Dryden was led by sophomore Ali Abel-Ferretti who finished with his 8th
double-double of the year as he finished with 20 points and 20 rebounds. Dryden also got a career-high 15 points from
junior Noah Welgoss. Matt McHerron added
8 points and 12 rebounds. Waverly was
led by senior Dylan Perry who finished with a game-high 23 points. Dryden and Waverly were deadlocked at 10
after the first quarter. "We were
fortunate enough to be tied at 10 after the first quarter. We had 12 turnovers in the first quarter,
however we were able to settle down and only have two turnovers in the second
quarter. Dryden would outscore Waverly
18-12 in the second quarter. "We
were very balanced in the second quarter."
Noah Welgoss led Dryden with 6 points in the quarter. Dryden would outscore Waverly 18-11 in the
third quarter to take a 13 point lead headed into the fourth quarter. Abel-Ferretti with 11 points in the
third. "Ali began to assert himself
in the third quarter. He didn't get many
touches in the post, but he attacked the glass well." "We have cracked late in games
lately. I was very impressed with the
way Trevor Gardner responded. He was our
voacl leader tonight. His positive voice
was crucial to our success tonight."
"Overall, our effort was outstanding tonight." Dryden JV's lost to Waverly 62-43. Kevin Ellis led Dryden with 18 points. Dryden is at Southern Cayuga tomorrow, 8 am
JV tip due to gym work which must begin at noon.
