IAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: SCHWARTZHOFF FUELS WAVERLY ROUT OF DRYDEN

WAVERLY — Senior Reylyn Schwartzhoff poured in 27 points in her last regular-season home game to lead Waverly to a 56-41 "Seniors / Parents Night" win over Dryden here Thursday night in IAC girls basketball crossover action.

Schwartzhoff, who was 11-for-11 from the free-throw line, scored seven points in the first quarter and Jordan Raupers canned a 3-pointer as the Lady Wolverines jumped out to a 17-7 lead.

Schwartzhoff added four points and Emiley Myers drained a 3-pointer in the second quarter and Waverly stretched its lead to 27-13 at the intermission.

Seven different Waverly players scored in the first half.

In the third quarter, Schwartzhoff scored eight points, including a 6-for-6 effort at the foul line, and Kiana Manuel was 4-for-4 from the line to push the lead to 44-27 entering the final eight minutes.

Manuel and Kylie Newman scored seven points apiece for Waverly and Raupers added five points.

Erin Daley led Dryden with 18 points and Vicky Leyburn added 11.

Waverly, now 16-1, will play for the overall IAC Large School championship next week.
