From the Coach - Boys Basketball v Lansing



Dryden fell to 8-6 on the season and 5-5 in IAC play with a 50-42 loss at Lansing.  Dryden was led by sophomore Ali Abel-Ferretti who had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Dryden also got 10 points each from freshman Trevor Gardner and senior Ross Cole.  lansing was led by sophomore Zack Detrick who had 14 points.  Tyler Winslow and Thomad Towner each added 12 points.  Both teams would be deadlocked at 15 after the first quarter.  Cole with 5 an d Abel-Ferretti with 4 in the quarter.  Dryden would outscore Lansing 11-8 in the second quarter to take a 26-23 halftime lead.  Abel-Ferretti with 7 points in the quarter.  "I thought Ali played harder tonight than he has all season.  He was active and aggressive on both ends of the floor."  Lansing would outscore Dryden 20-8 in the third quarter.  "We didn't locate the Detrick kid.  We knew he could shoot it, we just didn't close out in-time."  Dryden would outscore Lansing in the final quarter, 8-7.  "Defensively I thought we forced Lansing into some difficult looks tonight.  They made a few off-balance shots late in the shot-clock, but that happens from time-to-time."  Dryden is at Chenango Forks Monday, 5:30 JV tip.  The Dryden JV's defeated Lansing 63-56.  Dryden placed three players in double-figures as sophomores Anthony Nichols, Kevin Ellis, and Ty LeViere had 25, 18, and 10 points respectively.
