From the Coach - JV/Varsity Boys Basketball vs Southern Cayuga 1/18

Last night Dryden improved to 8-4 overall and 8-3 in IAC play with an 83-50 over visiting Southern Cayuga.  Dryden placed 5 players in double-figures as Gage Ellis led all scorers with 17 points.  Ellis also added 10 rebounds.  Shawn Moore added 16 points, Bryant Stuttle chipped in with 13 points, while Bryan Norman and Ali Abel-Ferretti added 11 points each.  Moore also had 8 rebounds, while Abel-Ferretti had 7.  For SC, Vince Stebbins had a team-high 13 points, while Tom Miller added 10 points.  Dryden took a 24-12 lead after the first quarter.  "We came out aggressive offensively.  We didn't settle for the deep look and were able to get some looks inside.  I was very pleased with the way we attacked the offensive glass."  Ellis and Abel-Ferretti each had 6 points in the quarter.  Dryden would extend the lead at halftime as they outscored SC 21-10 in the second quarter to take a 45-22 lead into the locker room.  Ellis had 9 points in the second quarter, giving him 15 at the break.  "Gage was aggressive on both ends of the floor tonight.  He has the ability to dominate both ends of the floor, and he was able to do that tonight."  Dryden would outscore SC 20-17 in the third quarter to take a 26-point lead into the fourth quarter.  Bryant Stuttle had 7 points in the 3rd quarter for Dryden.  Vince Stebbins had 9 in the third quarter for SC.  "Bryan Norman and Shawn Moore did an outstanding job defending Stebbins tonight.  He is an agile guard who handles it well, shoots it well, and is very athletic.  Bryan and Shawn did a great job of keeping him in front, forcing him to take difficult shots."  Dryden is off until Friday, January 25th when they will host Marathon.  Dryden JV's improved to 9-3 overall and 9-2 in IAC play with a 66-35 win.  Noah Welgoss led Dryden with 12 points and 5 assists, while Stu Stallman added 10 points and 12 rebounds.
