JV/Varsity Boys Basketball vs Marathon 01/25



Tonight, Dryden improved to 9-4 overall and 9-3 in IAC play with a 70-57 win over Marathon.  Dryden was led by Gage Ellis who had a career-high 26 points.  Ali Abel-Ferretti added 16 points and 12 rebounds.  Bryan Norman added 10 points for Dryden.  Marathon got 19 points from Jff Contri and 14 from Kody Barry.  Marathon would take a 17-16 lead after the first quarter.  "We came out and got a quick 6-point lead, but then we stopped being aggressive."  ELlis with 8 in the quarter and Norman with 6.  Norman would sit with foul trouble the entire second quarter.  Dryden would outscore Maraton 16-8 to take a 32-25 lead into the locker room.  Trevor Gardner with 2 late 3-point shots in the quarter to give Dryden their lead.  Dryden would outscore Maraton 21-18 in the third quarter.  Ellis with 3, 3-point makes in the third quarter.  "Gage can score in bunches, he just has to want to do it."  "Give credit to Marathon.  They continued to work hard the entire time."  Dryden JV's won 64-50.  Kevin Ellis led Dryden with 19 points.
