Austin Grunder scored a season-high 40 points as the 19th-ranked Trumansburg boys’ basketball team rallied for a 65-60 victory over host Dryden in Interscholastic Athletic Conference play on Friday in Dryden.
Grunder, a 6-2 sophomore, made 16 field goals, including three from beyond the 3-point line, and added 5-for-6 foul shooting for the Blue Raiders (8-2, 5-1 IAC), who outscored the Purple Lions 23-13 in the fourth quarter. Grunder is averaging 31 points in his last three games for T-burg.
Luke Richards added nine points for the winners. Six-foot-6 junior Ali Abel-Ferretti scored 24 points to lead the Purple Lions (5-4, 4-2).
