From the Coach:
1/15: VBBB Last night Dryden improved to 6-4 overall and 4-3 in
IAC play with a 61-32 win over visiting Union Springs. Junior Noah Welgoss led Dryden with a
career-high 14 points. Junior Thad
LeViere and sophomore Stuart Stahlman added 7 points each. Union Springs was led by Garrett Cunningham
who had a game-high 15 points.
Dryden
would take a 10-8 lead after the first quarter.
Senior Ross Cole with 4 points in the quarter. "During our pre-game discussion I made
it a point to discuss let-down after a big win the night before. Unfortunately, we played the first quarter
with little passion and intensity."
Dryden would outscore US 19-1 in the second quarter. Welgoss would lead Dryden in the second
quarter as he scored 7 points. Senior
Bruno Bugliosi would add 6 points in the second quarter. "We played with better speed and tempo
during the second quarter. Defensively
we were more aggressive, whereas offensively we ran the floor much better and
got easy looks." Dryden would
outscore US 23-10 in the third quarter to take a commanding lead into the
fourth quarter. "It was nice to get
everyone significant playing time on the second night of a
back-to-back." Dryden is at Whitney
Point this Friday, 5:30 JV tip. The
Dryden JV's defeated Union Springs 60-49 to improve to 5-5 on the year. Dryden was led offensively by sophomores
Kevin Ellis and Anthony Nichols who had 17 and 16 points respectively.
