Dryden Boys Basketball at Whitney Point - Ithaca Times

Ithaca Times

Dryden fell to 4-4 in IAC play and 6-5 overall with a 59-49 loss to Whitney Point Friday night.
Dryden was led by sophomore Ali Abel-Ferretti who had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Noah Welgoss added 12 points, while freshman Trevor Gardner scored 11.

Dryden took a 20-17 lead after the first quarter, and led 32-30 at the break. "I thought our game plan was working well defensively on the Marsh kid, but we allowed the Shraugger kid to get post position which was too deep,” said head coach Kim Brown.
Dryden continued to hold a 45-42 lead entering the fourth quarter, but Dryden got outscored 17-4 in the fourth quarter.
"We tightened up in the fourth quarter,” said Brown. “It was similar to what happened versus Chenango Valley on Monday. Give credit to the Shraugger kid. He played tough the entire night. His deep post position allowed for easy catches and finishes. We have got to do a better job defending bigs in the future. Ross Cole and Thad LeViere did an outstanding job defensively.”  Dryden hosts Trumansburg Tuesday.
