From the Coach - JV Girls 7-2 with win over Union Springs

1/15: The Dryden JV girls secured another road win at Union Springs 24-17 improving their record to 7-2. I was very pleased with the little things that we have been working on for the last month such as rebounding and not giving the other team second opportunities. We did an exceptional job with crashing the boards and allowing ourselves with second opportunities offensively off missed shots. Offensively, we continue to find that game where everything clicks. We did cut down on the number of forced passes, but are still making mental mistakes. Are ball movement was very good and off the ball movement as well. This allowed us to have many opportunities for open looks and we did make some, but missed a lot. I thought our guards played very well. They were able to make good decisions in front of them and attacked the basket when they saw open lanes. The girls continue to play hard and are having fun learning such a complex sport.

From the Coach - JV Girls Basketball Openign Round of Holiday Tourney

Holiday Tournment on Saturday 1/4.

The Dryden JV Girls Basketball Team improved their record 6-1 with a 30-9 win over Newark Valley. It wasn't a spectacular win, but the girls were just happy to be playing basketball again with a long lay over between our last scheduled game on December 20th. The girls had total control over the game from start to finish, but are still have difficult with our half court zone offense. We are either making poor decisions on where to go with the ball or when we get the ball to the right spot we have a hard time converting points. I proud of the girls for playing hard and playing together as a team. The girls will play in the Championship game on Saturday January 11th at 3:00 home.
