Girls Varsity Swim IAC Championships

The Dryden Lady Lions varsity swim team finished tied for third with Watkins Glen at the 2014 IAC championships held Saturday, November 1^st, at Watkins Glen.  Dryden and Watkins both earned 331 points while finishing behind second place Waverly and champion Lansing.

Highlights of the meet for Dryden included gold and silver medals for Erin Daley in the 50 Free (25.79) and 100 Free (56.40) respectively, a silver medal for Marita Miller in the 500 Free (5:57.21), and bronze medals for the 200 Medley Relay team of Erin Daley, Taylor Cain, Jainyn Wood, and Marita Miller (2:01.17), and the 400 Free Relay team of Jainyn Wood, Cassie Miller, Marita Miller, and Erin Daley (4:02.77).

Dryden swimmers earning ribbons (4^th -8^th place) were Allison Morrow (200 Free, 5^th, 2:16.06, 100 Breast, 8^th, 1:22.15), Jainyn Wood (200 IM, 4^th, 2:27.91, 100 Fly, 4^th, 1:07.28), Marita Miller (200 IM, 7^th, 2:35.99), Taylor Cain (50 Free, 5^th, 28.17, 100 Breast, 4^th, 1:17.16), Cassie Miller (50 Free, 6^th, 28.37, 100 Free, 7^th, 1:02.26), Maddee Alexander (500 Free, 8^th, 6:26.41), Miranda Seymour (100 Breast, 7^th, 1:19.46), and the 200 Free Relay team of Taylor Cain, Allison Morrow, Miranda Seymour, and Cassie Miller (5^th, 1:55.35).

The girls’ next meet is the Section 4 Prelims on Wednesday 11/5, at Lansing.
