The Little Red scored 92.5 points to outpace runners-up Sidney and Vestal, who both scored 62 points. Lansing placed seventh (36), Trumansburg was ninth (28) and Dryden was 12th (16).
Semon won the 100 meters in 11.58 seconds, and led off the Little Red’s winning 400 relay, which won in 44.44 seconds. Other relay members were Bruce Greene, Hackworth and Tevin Smith. Hackworth also won the long jump in 21 feet, 71/2 inches.
Ithaca’s Dan Dracup won the 800 (2:00.28) to post the Little Red’s other event win.
Lansing got wins from its 4x800 relay (Luke Field, Danny Zheng, Kevin Price, Ben Eisenhut), which clocked an 8:35.64, and Max Jordan in the pole vault, with a leap of 12 feet. Dryden was led by Bryant Stuttle, who won the triple jump in 43-6.
On the girls’ side, Dryden was the top local team with a second-place finish at 59 points, four behind champ Vestal. Ithaca placed eighth (32), host Newark Valley was 14th (19), Lansing was 16th (10) and Trumansburg did not score.
Host Newark Valley was led by senior Jenna Cupp, who set meet and stadium records in winning the 800 (2:18.60). Dryden’s Rachel Hutchinson finished second in 2:23.46. Abbey Yatsko won the 100 meters (13.12), finished second in the 200 (27.25) and anchored the Purple Lions’ winning 400 relay, which won in 51.96. Other relay members were Amy DeGaetano, Rachel Wojcik and Mackenzie Todd, who added a victory in the long jump (15-91/2).
